Did Amy Winehouse Do Ballet?

Ballet

Amy Winehouse was a multi-talented singer, songwriter and recording artist who made her mark in the music industry with her unique blend of jazz, soul and hip hop. She rose to fame in the early 2000s with her debut album Frank, which catapulted her to international stardom and earned her multiple awards. But did Amy Winehouse do ballet?

Though she is known mostly for her singing, Amy Winehouse did have an interest in ballet. She started taking lessons at the age of 10, and according to a 2007 interview with The Sun, she still had an appreciation for the art form even after she became famous. In the interview, she said that she would love to get back into ballet when she found time in between her recording sessions.

In 2010, Amy Winehouse’s father Mitch revealed that his daughter had been taking professional classes at a London dance school. He said that he was very proud of his daughter for pursuing something outside of music. The classes were said to be helping Amy focus on something positive after a difficult period in her life.

Unfortunately due to her untimely death in 2011, we will never know how far Amy’s ballet career could have gone if she had been able to continue taking classes and pursue it professionally. Despite this, it is clear that Amy had a deep appreciation for the art form and was determined to take it seriously.

Conclusion:

It is clear from available evidence that Amy Winehouse had an appreciation for ballet and did indeed take regular classes in pursuit of mastering the art form. She may not have been able to pursue it professionally due to her untimely death but it is clear that she wanted to make ballet part of her life.
