Tom Ellis is an English actor, best known for his role as Lucifer Morningstar in the FOX television series, Lucifer. He has had many other notable roles throughout his career, such as Gary Preston in the British sitcom Miranda, and Dr. William Rush in Rush. However, one thing that often gets overlooked is whether Tom Ellis has ever done musical theatre or not.

The answer to this question is yes – he has indeed done musical theatre in the past. In 2012-2013 Ellis appeared as the male lead in a West End production of ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’ at the Adelphi Theatre.

This was a major stage role for Ellis and he put on quite a performance. He sang some of the most famous songs from Sweeney Todd such as ‘A Little Priest’, ‘Pretty Women’ and ‘Not While I’m Around’.

Aside from his work on Sweeney Todd, Ellis also performed in a 2009 production of ‘Rock Of Ages’, playing Drew Boley alongside fellow actor Shayne Ward. In this production, he not only sang but also played guitar on stage – something which won him much praise from critics at the time.

Tom Ellis’ performance skills extend even further than just musical theatre though; he is also an accomplished dancer and has starred in various dance films such as The English Roses. His dancing skills were showcased during his stint on Sweeney Todd too – during one scene he even performed a tap-dance routine with fellow cast member Owen Sharpe!

Conclusion:

It is clear that Tom Ellis does have experience in musical theatre, having starred in productions both on London’s West End and elsewhere across Britain. His talent extends far beyond just singing though; he is also an accomplished dancer and guitarist, making him one of the most versatile performers around today.
