Ballet dance is a very graceful form of art and one of the basic steps that is taught to beginner’s is a Ballet Kick. This move can be used in many different styles of dance, including jazz, lyrical, and hip hop.
It involves quickly extending one leg out in front of the dancer with the toes pointed. Ballet kicks require strength, control, and flexibility to be executed properly.
To do a ballet kick, start by standing tall with your feet together and your arms down at your sides. Then bring one foot up off the floor as high as you can while still keeping your balance.
Once both legs are off the floor, point the toes on the raised leg and then extend it out in front of you as far as you can reach. Make sure to keep your hips level and your arms up at chest height for balance.
When extending your leg forward, make sure not to lock or hyperextend your knee joint. Keep it slightly bent so that you are able to maintain control throughout the movement.
As you kick forward, pull back on the supporting leg so that you are able to get just enough momentum to get both legs off the floor.
