How Do You Unlock the Art Museum in ACNH?

Art|Art Museum

Art is a form of expression and inspiration that has been around for thousands of years. It’s no surprise then that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game has implemented an Art Museum as part of its expansive world.

The Art Museum, however, is not immediately available. Players must first complete certain tasks before they can unlock the museum.

The first step to unlocking the museum is to progress through the storyline and reach level 4 in Blathers’s friendship level. At this point, Blathers will debut his plan for the museum and he will request five pieces of art from the player.

These five pieces can be obtained from Redd, who appears on random days on your island. This notorious fox sells artwork at his stall that may or may not be authentic – it’s up to you to decide if you want to buy it or not!

The next step

Once you obtain five pieces of art, you can deliver them to Blathers and he will construct the museum in your town plaza! After construction is complete, Blathers will open the doors and visitors can come in to see your art collection. You are also able to donate any other artwork you have collected over time, so be sure to keep a look out for any new pieces.

Final Step

The final step in unlocking the Art Museum is completing all four wings by donating 15 pieces of art each. Once all four floors are completed, Blathers will thank you for your hard work in filling up the museum with artwork and reward you with an exclusive item – a ‘Golden Slingshot’! This item allows players to shoot down balloons from afar which can contain special items or Bells; definitely something worth working hard for.

Conclusion

Unlocking the Art Museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons requires players to complete several steps including reaching level 4 with Blathers’s friendship level, obtaining 5 pieces of art from Redd’s stall, donating 15 pieces per floor after construction is complete and finally being rewarded with a Golden Slingshot once all four floors are filled up!
