The Folkloric Ballet of Mexico, or the Ballet Folklórico de México, is a world-renowned touring dance company that has been delighting audiences around the world since its inception in 1952. Founded by acclaimed choreographer Amalia Hernández, the troupe is dedicated to preserving and promoting Mexican culture and folklore through traditional dance.

In recognition of their immense contribution to Mexican culture, the troupe was given its current name by presidential decree on February 8th 1962 making it official that this unique dance company be known as ‘the Ballet Folklórico de México’ from that day forward.
