Movie theaters have been a staple in Marion, Indiana for decades. With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, however, many movie theaters have had to close their doors to the public. This includes Marion’s local movie theater, which has been closed since March of 2020.

The closure of the theater has not been easy for the community. Many people rely on movies as a form of entertainment and escape, and not having access to that form of entertainment has been difficult for them. The local theater was a great place for families to spend time together and for people to enjoy their favorite films.

When the pandemic hit, it was impossible for the theater to stay open while still keeping their patrons safe. They followed all safety protocols, including closing down the theater and implementing social distancing measures when they did reopen briefly in late May. However, due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in Indiana, they had to close again until further notice.

The closure of the movie theater has also had an economic impact on Marion as well. Many people rely on movie theaters as a source of income, whether they are employed by the theater or are involved with businesses that depend on patrons visiting from out of town or from other parts of the state. These people have had to find alternative sources of income over the past year due to the closure of the movie theater in Marion.
