Zoe Saldana is an American actress renowned for her role as Nyota Uhara in the 2009 movie Star Trek. She has also appeared in several other blockbuster movies, including Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Losers. However, despite her acting success, Saldana is not a ballet dancer.

Saldana actually began her career as a dancer. At the age of nine she took up ballet classes and went on to study at the ECOS Espacio de Danza Academy in the Dominican Republic. She danced with this school until she was seventeen and then moved to New York City to pursue her acting career.

However, despite having trained in ballet for eight years, Saldana does not consider herself to be a professional ballet dancer. In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, she said “Dance was my first love but it wasn’t my true calling.. I was never good enough to be a professional ballerina”.

Although she may not consider herself to be a professional dancer anymore, Saldana still loves to dance and often uses it as an emotional outlet when filming intense scenes for movies or television shows. She has also been known to perform ballet sequences in some of her films such as Center Stage and Colombiana. So while she may not be a professional ballerina anymore, Saldana still knows how to put on an impressive show when dancing on screen.

In conclusion, Zoe Saldana is not a professional ballet dancer; however, she has trained in classical ballet for eight years and still enjoys dancing today. She often uses it as an emotional outlet during film shoots and even performs ballet sequences in some of her movies from time to time.
