What Day Is the Akron Art Museum Free?

The Akron Art Museum is a great place to take the family for a day of fun, exploration and cultural enrichment. The museum was established in 1922 and features over 5,000 works of art from around the world.

The museum offers a variety of exhibitions and educational programs for visitors to enjoy. One of the highlights of visiting the Akron Art Museum is that admission is free on certain days throughout the year.

Every Tuesday, visitors can experience the Akron Art Museum for free. This includes access to all gallery spaces and exhibitions as well as special programs such as artist talks, films, lectures and other events hosted by the museum. This offer does not include fees associated with special exhibitions or events.

The Akron Art Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am – 5pm. The museum also offers extended hours on Thursdays until 8pm. It’s important to note that during special events or holidays, like Thanksgiving or Christmas Day, that the museum will be closed and no free admission will be available.

Special Events

The Akron Art Museum also offers discounted admission to certain special events throughout the year. These include First Fridays, which offer free admission after 5pm; Second Saturdays where kids (ages 17 and under) get in free; Third Thursdays; and Fourth Fridays where seniors (age 65+) get in free with valid ID.
