Miami City Ballet is an American dance company based in Miami Beach, Florida. Founded in 1985 by Toby Lerner Ansin, Miami City Ballet (MCB) is one of the largest ballet companies in the United States and has achieved international acclaim for its artistry, technical ability, and innovative approach to classical dance.

The company has grown to include a main company of more than 50 dancers, a School of Dance with more than 400 students, and an extensive touring schedule. The company has performed throughout Florida and across the country in cities such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington D.C.

The repertoire of MCB is heavily weighted toward 20th century works by George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins as well as other masterworks from a variety of choreographers. In 2015 the company premiered two new works by Alexei Ratmansky and Liam Scarlett.

MCB also regularly performs works by Balanchine such as Apollo (1928) and Serenade (1935). In addition to these classic works the company performs new ballets created for them such as Justin Peck’s Everywhere We Go (2015) and Justin Peck’s Year of the Rabbit (2012).
