The ArtScience Museum is a unique and fascinating cultural institution located in Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands. The museum features an array of interactive and immersive exhibits, ranging from contemporary art, science, design and architecture to photography, film and more. It serves as a platform to explore the intertwining of art and science in today’s world.

The idea of an art-science museum was conceived by architect Moshe Safdie. Safdie wanted to design a building that would be “a hybrid between an art museum and a science museum”, with the aim of inspiring creativity within the community. He chose Marina Bay Sands as the home for his creation, due to its spectacular location at the intersection of two iconic landmarks – Marina Bay and the Singapore River – offering stunning views across the bay.

The interior of the ArtScience Museum comprises three floors filled with galleries showcasing a range of creative works from around the world. Amongst these are permanent collections such as ‘Bits & Bytes’ which explores robotics technology through interactive exhibits; ‘Interwoven Worlds’ which gives visitors an insight into traditional Chinese culture; and ‘Nature Connects’ which celebrates nature through digital art installations.

In addition to these permanent collections, there are also regular exhibitions featuring works from renowned artists such as Yayoi Kusama, Tracey Emin and Ai Weiwei. The ArtScience Museum also houses a library with over 8,000 books on topics related to art and science; a café serving Asian-inspired cuisine; and even a theatre where visitors can watch short films about groundbreaking research projects.

The ArtScience Museum is committed to providing educational opportunities for all ages through its various programs such as school visits, workshops and other activities. It has become one of Singapore’s most popular tourist attractions since it opened in 2011, attracting millions of visitors each year who come to explore its exciting range of exhibitions and activities.

In summary, the ArtScience Museum was founded by renowned architect Moshe Safdie in 2011 at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands complex. It provides an interactive platform for exploring how art intersects with science in today’s world, featuring permanent collections along with regular exhibitions from renowned artists. Through its engaging programs for all ages it has become one of Singapore’s most popular tourist attractions since it opened over nine years ago.
