Ballet Philippines is a professional dance company based in the Philippines. Founded in 1969 by Alice Reyes, it is now one of the most respected and well-known dance companies in the country.

Alice Reyes began her ballet training at the age of eleven at Ballet Manila under the tutelage of Alice Reyes’s mother, Milagros “Mila” Reyes, who was also a professional dancer. Alice excelled in her studies, becoming one of the most accomplished ballerinas in the Philippines. After leaving Ballet Manila, she continued her studies at the renowned Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow before returning to Manila and founding Ballet Philippines in 1969.

Under Alice’s artistic direction, Ballet Philippines quickly established itself as one of the premier dance companies in Southeast Asia. The company has since gone on to stage a diverse range of productions from classical ballets to modern works and Filipino folk dances. The company has also toured extensively both domestically and internationally, performing at prestigious venues such as New York City’s Lincoln Center and Tokyo’s Bunkamura Orchard Hall.

In addition to her work with Ballet Philippines, Alice Reyes has also been involved with numerous other projects such as choreographing for television shows and commercials, teaching master classes around the world, and serving as a board member for various organizations. She also serves on the faculty at Ateneo de Manila University where she teaches both classical ballet and modern dance techniques.
